Process for Formators

and/or

Rediscovering the Sabbath
3-week Mini-Sabbatical Opportunity for Anyone

20 March - 8 April 2011
Anawim Prayer and Retreat Centre, Wangi Wangi, NSW

Two Additional Opportunities

Last Friday 2 July FCS announced the Human Formation and Structured Autobiography Process for Formators, 26 February - 17 March 2011. Four formators have already registered for the program and it is now closed.

Through this email George Bilotta, PhD is proposing to add another 3-week program 20 March - 7 April 2011 to accommodate formators who might be interested.

During this additional 3-week period two parallel programs will be facilitated by Dr. Bilotta, as he did in 2010.

First, there will be the replication of the Human Formation and Structured Autobiography Process for Formators.

Second, Dr. Bilotta will also offer a mini-sabbatical experience based on the Structured Autobiography. This process is for any interested person who is looking for 3-week process to be used as a reflective mini-sabbatical experience, as a transition period, and/or as a self-exploration and human growth opportunity.

Again there is a limit of 4 participants between the two programs. Acceptance is based on a first come basis. Registration deadline is 25 August 2010.

Details of the two programs follow below.

Sabbatical !
If you are planning a sabbatical period,
FCS offers the
Rediscovering the Sabbath
an individualize holistic human growth process
for several weeks to several months.

Program One: Formator Formation

Similar to the opportunity offered to formators over the past few years, this 3-week, 15-day process, based on FCS's Structured Autobiography, is again being provided by George Bilotta, PhD, Formation Consultation Services.

The program is for any formator who desires to add a significant human formation process through the use of FCS's Structured Autobiography to their vocational discernment, postulancy, novitiate, and/or post-novitiate program(s).

Formators learn the nuance of human formation by undertaking their own personal process first. We cannot accompany others where we have not been ourselves.

Program Description

Formators will be introduced to the foundational themes of human formation and will process the various chapters of the 180-page Structured Autobiography manual. Each workday will include a 1.5 hour group process session. The group forum will provide the opportunity to explore and converse about significant human formation themes along with the practical step-by-step implementation of the Structured Autobiography with candidates.

Furthermore, each formator will participate in a daily individual 1.45-hour process session with Dr. Bilotta. In addition, the program will explore areas that formators may feel somewhat uneasy with and/or unsure about.

With the completion of the program, formators will be prepared with some backup supervision to guide individuals in initial formation through FCS's Structured Autobiography.

Program Two: Mini-Sabbatical

A time to reflect, to take one's pulse, to breathe deeply, to slow down and explore. A central focus of this mini-sabbatical is to name, claim and work with that which blocks your eyes to see, your ears to hear, and your heart to feel. Through self-awareness, compassion for self, and conversion of the heart, you are invited to:
  - recover your vision and passion
  - increase your sensibility of the sacred
  - rediscover your inner wisdom
  - revitalize your spirit and joy for ministry and life.

Similar to Human Formation and Structured Autobiography Process for Formators, the mini-sabbatical is also based on FCS's Structured Autobiography. The mini-sabbatical like FCS's Rediscovering the Sabbath process offer much flexibility and individualization to correspond to the particular needs and desires of the participant. Mini-Sabbatical participants will participate in a daily individual 1.45 hour process session with Dr. Bilotta and join in the daily group conversation and sharing for 1.30 hours.
