Social Justice Committee
The Social Justice Committee acts on behalf of the members of CLRI(NSW) DOING social justice. At the 2000 AGM, the membership passed to the Social Justice Committee responsibility for action, including advocacy, in the name of CLRI(NSW). MAKE SURE THE CARBON POLLUTION REDUCTION SCHEME DOESN'T BIND US TO WEAK TARGETS
A
bill for the scheme is due to be introduced into parliament this
month, so time is running out for the Government to fulfil their
commitment to effective climate action. Keep the pressure up:
-
Send a copy of this Request for Action with your own name and address
-
Visit your local MP and talk to them about the CPRS
-
write a letter to the editor of the SMH
-
organise a protest at a source of greenhouse pollution...
There will never be another 2009, and the decisions we make this year will affect the people and ecosystems of this planet for generations to come. Make sure the government knows what you think!
